Dali Van Gogh Tracking New Record, Planning Return To Stage
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
After a 2 year hiatus, Nova Scotian rock band Dali Van Gogh are coming back with a new lineup and a new album, the first since the band's critically acclaimed release Wild Blue City in 2012.
Dali Van Gogh is a 5 piece hard rock band hailing from Halifax NS. After a 2 year hiatus, DVG is now planning it's return to the stage with a new lineup and a new record.
The band, founded by guitarist Isaac Kent in 2008, has gone through several lineup changes over the years, and has released 3 records: Verbal Warning (2010), Mask Identity (2012), and the critically acclaimed Wild Blue City (2012).
The band now includes Jaad Stewart on Drums, Callum McLeod on Bass, Devon Roberts on keyboard and organ. The band is in the midst of final vocalist auditions and is expected to announce their new vocalist in the coming weeks. While auditions are coming to a close, those extremely interested to audition for the band should please email a brief bio and links to a vocal demonstration to email@example.com.
Dali Van Gogh has already had a well talked about career in it's brief time on the Atlantic Canadian rock scene. In 2011 they placed 3rd in a nation (Canada) wide battle of the bands put on by Rogers Wireless. With their 2012 release of Wild Blue City (both the single and the album) the band received wide spread charting radio play across Canada, The United States, and South America, and the single was used to launch Skunk Radio in London England. DVG and Wild Blue City topped the reverbnation rock charts for Halifax NS for 28 weeks straight post it's release, and haven't fallen out of the top 20 in the 3 years since. An astounding figure considering the nature of modern releases.
The band was featured in the debut edition of RockWired Magazine and has been featured several times since, including a feature on guitarist Isaac Kent as one of the top 20 guitarists in independent rock music to look out for in the coming year. The band has been featured in many other print and web based publication over the last 4 years, and have been nominated for several awards including but not limited to Best Artist (G-Major Awards Presented by RockWired), Best EP for Mask Identity (G-Major Awards Presented by RockWired) and Best Album for Wild Blue City (Faces Choice Awards).
At the end of 2013, vocalist Marcel McNeil stepped away from the band to pursue other endeavours in life, at which time the band went on hiatus. During this break, Isaac expanded the Dali Van Gogh Music company (originally created to protect the band's assets) into a full fledged production, promotion, and recording company. He discovered and helped put together the now local favourites Tri City Villains, producing their first record in 2013/14, signed and recorded Revenge Killed Mary Jane in 2014, and Musical Affair in 2015, among others.
The company also expanded to booking and promotion, hosting their own music festival at Montes Showbar in Dartmouth, NS, in May of 2015.
Early in 2015, Isaac's suffered a devastating fire at his home and recording studio, losing 100% of his recording equipment (as well as the rest of his possessions) and essentially slowing the growth of the company to a crawl. Now in 2016, with a new DVG record on the horizon, Isaac will be re-branding and re-launching the music company as HouseFire Records, and is currently in the process of building a new, state of the art recording facility that will be located in Dartmouth NS. Currently dubbed HouseFire Studio 1, the space will feature an expansive live room, several isolation booths, and a mixing and mastering chamber, as well as the latest in recording hardware and software. The studio is expected to open in summer of 2016. The company re-brand will roll out over the coming months.
On the Dali Van Gogh band horizon, the group is currently in pre production on a new album, and are also in the process of audition a new vocalist for the band. Auditioners should be charismatic, have at least some stage experience, and obviously some serious singing ability. Music theory knowledge or playing of an instrument would be a asset but is not necessary. Those interested in the position should direct inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org, and are asked to please include a brief biography and link(s) to a demonstration of your vocal ability.
