Australian band Recreator wins Best Rock Artist at the Southern Australia Music Awards, and release a new single through HouseFire Records.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2016 has been a great year for Recreator, a post-grunge band from Australia. From signing a release deal with HouseFire Records in Canada, to state wide touring, the band has been on a serious roll for months, and now to top off the year the band has won the coveted SAMA (South Australia Music Association) Award for Most Popular Rock Artist.
“It was great just to be there and experience it, let alone win!” said Nate Jenner, who's song writing skills and a roaring vocals have led the band to be widely considered the #1 band in Southern Australia. “From the red carpet entry, radio interviews and rubbing shoulders with great bands such as Bad//Dreams, to our category being read. Best rock band is read very last. It gives you time to over think and start to doubting yourself amongst the other talent in the room, then to hear the bands name called as the winner was a very surreal experience.”
“Its a great honour for me,” said band member Jesse Berkfeld on the big win, “ and I am sure the other guys feel the same. Its probably been the biggest indicator so far that people are responding positively to what we are doing. All our hard work is beginning to pay off!”
In the weeks that have followed the win, Recreator's popularity has soared across Australia, and they are now widely known as THE band to see from their part the country, one that is known world wide as a rock Mecca. With international touring acts like Silverchair, Wolfmother, and AC/DC, this is high praise from a musical and fan community that often shuns new rock acts.
“I would say that this will probably open some doors for us in terms of getting people to notice our music, and perhaps getting some gigs or tours which we may not have had before,” said Jesse on the band's ever growing popularity.
With that in mind, Recreator is continuing it's push into international markets with the release of their new single Stay Silent through HouseFire Records.
“Musically the song is kind of an ode to the glory days of gunge” said Isaac Kent, House Fire Records owner. “It's a brilliant cap to their self-titled album, and the lyrics are extremely relevant to today's social climate. It's pretty dark and foreboding, which is how a lot of people feel about the future these days, especially in the US.”
The single is being released to 3000 radio stations in Norther America, Europe, and Asia. You can listen to and purchase the song at any of the links below:
